Next up is DW6 Empires. This Empires is…eh, not that great. The problem with this game is that there’s no real strategy to it, the “Empires” part of this is nearly thrown out the window. You’re limited to just a handful of officers no matter how many areas you control, you can’t take over a force by taking its capital so you HAVE to fight through the entire map which makes it drag on.

Policies are now replaced with…cards, that you get depending on who is in your army, and since you can only have a few characters in your army you barely have any. You can’t do most Empires things like form an alliance so really all the cards are good for is restoring your troops and buffing your attack to absurd heights so you can just mindlessly invade as often as possible to win as quickly as possible. Alternatively in this game you can play as an “officer” the entire campaign but this is slow, boring, and gives you even less options as a ruler with no benefit for staying an officer as oppose to a ruler. You also can’t refuse to defend when you get invaded.
Basically this game takes a lot of steps back and isn’t really fun to play. Most of what I do is just mindlessly invade with my attack stat boosted through the roof. Repetition to the max!
